Harold J. Halpin, Esq.

Chairman & CEO
Harold Halpin is the Chairman and CEO of Lamorte Burns and oversees all correspondent work for the company, personally. Over the course of a 50+ year career, he built Lamorte Burns into the leading maritime correspondent firm in North America, representing the majority of the International Group Club members in all matters pertaining to Protection and Indemnity (P&I) and Hull and Machinery (H&M). He founded, built and sold the country’s first and largest marine environmental concern, Environmental Crisis Management (ECM) and he was a co-founder of USL&H mutual, Signal Mutual and Signal Administration. Mr. Halpin is a graduate of Tulane Law School and has an extensive background in maritime law, Jones Act, cargo and hull, maritime personal injury, contracts, commercial law and litigation, and general insurance claims.



Rewar Diaz

Correspondent
Rewar Diaz is a Correspondent for Lamorte Burns who (in addition to his adjusting role) is overseeing the development of Lamorte’s new proprietary claims management software, which uses predictive analytics to manage claims from inception through resolution of each respective case. Mr. Diaz has an decade long background in both maritime claims adjusting and software development and handles P&I and H&M casework from our Florida office for East Coast ports.



Harry Halpin

Correspondent
Harry Halpin, grandson of our Chairman & CEO, Harold Halpin, is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and is a first-year law student at Touro Law School in New York. He completed training as a Junior Adjustor, prior to earning his diploma as Licensed Adjuster, last year. He is based in Manhattan, New York and specializes in Medical Bill Review and Personal Injury claims in addition to his P&I and H&M casework. Harry’s territory includes ports in the northeast.

Capt. Bally Duggal

Correspondent/Surveyor
Capt. Bally Duggal is a maritime industry veteran, surveyor, and P&I/H&M expert in our Houston, TX office. Bally has over 35 years of maritime experience including 16 years of sailing and command experience aboard oil tankers commanding ULCC and VLCC tankers worldwide. Capt. Duggal is leading Houston-area P&I/H&M surveyor and an accredited OCIMF SIRE CAT 1 inspector. Bally is assisted by long time Lamorte claims manager, Patricia Crumpler, in our Houston office, and replaced retired LB executive Bob Hanson.



Mr. Taylor Trumbower, Esq.

Correspondent
Mr. Trumbower is a recent graduate from the world-renowned Tulane Law School maritime program in New Orleans, Louisiana and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia. Taylor specializes in Protection & Indemnity (P&I), Hull &Machinery (H&M) and Freight, Demurrage and Defense (FDD) claims in and around the Port of New Orleans and Mississippi River..

Noah Cowart

Correspondent
Mr. Cowart is a recent graduate of Tulane University Law School, where he obtained his Juris Doctor (J.D.) in the Spring of 2021. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, Law, & Society, and a minor in Political Science, from the University of California, Irvine. Before attending law school. Mr. Cowart worked as an account manager for a health insurance firm in Orange County, CA, and served as a law clerk extern at the largest public interest law firm in the country, Public Counsel in Los Angeles. He is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and travels between the Bay and Orange County often.



Geoffrey Gill, Esq.

Correspondent
Geoff is a maritime industry veteran, author, adjuster and attorney. Geoff has been actively engaged in the maritime business for more than 40 years, graduating from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, sailing as a licensed second officer aboard US commercial vessels in world-wide services, and thereafter 30+ years as an attorney licensed in the States of California, New York, and Florida (inactive). He is also author of the internationally well-received book Maritime Error Management (2011). Geoff is largely responsible for Lamorte’s US West Coast operations and joined us in November.




John Lenker, Esq

Correspondent
John is broadly experienced and recognized for his legal and operational expertise in the maritime industry. For more than 30 years John has practiced maritime law in the States of Washington and California as a litigation attorney, specializing in all areas of marine insurance (P&I, H&M and FD&D) and substantive areas including collision, cargo damage, crew, and salvage issues, as well as interfacing with federal and state governmental agencies. Previous positions as Port Agent and Ports and Terminal Manager, and as a Master of Ocean Going Tugs. John has gained significant sea-going insight and experience and has given him a unique perspective. He is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy (B.Sci.), University of Portland (MBA), and University of the Pacific (JD).
