Since its humble beginning in 1938 as Monroe & Ard, located on
Beaver Street in downtown New York City representing Protection &
Indemnity (P&I) Clubs in adjusting P&I Claims, Lamorte Burns
& Co., Inc. has grown into a nine office company providing full
maritime regulatory compliance, consulting and claims adjusting
services.
From a strictly P&I claims adjustment firm in 1938, LBC
has added additional staff/services to provide claims adjustment
capability/expertise for hull & machinery claims as well as U.S.
Federal & State Workers Compensation Claims.
Lamorte Burns is the world's leading authority in maritime
claims adjusting and regulatory matters, representing over 50% of the
protection and indemnity market in North America. With a client roster
that includes the largest and most prominent P&I clubs and hull
& machinery underwriters, Lamorte Burns counsels clients throughout
the world and handles their business in and around U.S. waters as if it
were its own. Building upon 70 years of success as the market-leading
company in its sector has yielded the ability to diversify its product
offerings, allowing it to better serve the clients.
Lamorte Burns founded Rite Travel International, a
full-service business and leisure travel agency in 1990. As a result,
we are able to handle our client's diverse and often immediate needs
regarding matters such as repatriation of stowaways and crew members,
meeting and event planning, and business travel.
In the aftermath of the Terrorist attacks of September 11,
2001 various International and U.S. legislation placed new requirements
on vessel owners trading throughout the world, Lamorte Burns has again
created, through a combination of resources, a facility to provide
maritime security compliance services to help our clients comply with
these new laws and regulations.
Lamorte Burns & Co., Inc. in its dedication to service and
quality consistency, is able to use its experience and expertise to
provide products and services to its clients in an ever changing
